I recently made the task of finding Indian films. I have not seen many, of course, and here, at least, are very difficult to achieve. What is good to get away a little of the cliches of Hollywood (not to deny that Bollywood is not yours), but there is less blood, less business as usual and more lifelike images with less technical treatment.
If you have not seen much of this genre and want to start, I would recommend Bride & Prejudice of the renowned (and funny) Gurinder Chadha (Bend it like Beckham?) An adaptation of my favorite book of Jean Austen, Pride & Prejudice. If you did not see it, I hope that HBO or Cinemax repeat it soon. Although not think it is very difficult to find. The movie is goodI have something more than friendship in the movie, but play with the circumstances and misunderstandings. So I recommend the scene where the maid comes. The easily recognized.
For others the story does not add much. But I'm tired of analyzing films with scientific eye to determine if they are good or not. If fun and distracting, and I see now.
only thing wrong with the version I found is that the English subtitles is simply disastrous (I remember the days when translated with Altavista fics ^ ^) but it is understood, which is important. And of course, be prepared for constant mixing between Hindi and English, and I fear that the latter lost.
I leave you with the link: Kal ho
